Farmers Market "For the Whole Family" Opens Thursday

KENNEWICK, Wash. -The Kennewick Farmers Market kicks-off this Thursday.

This is the fourth year vendors have set up at the Southridge Sports Complex. Along with fresh produce, vendors sell local beef, pork and dairy products, and local artisan sell their crafts.

Market manager Chera Antos says this farmers market is different from other markets in the region because it's the only one held in the late afternoon and evening, so the whole family can turn out.

"There's a playground there so parents can bring their kids to play," Antos says. "Last year the aquatic park was open. Kids can play in the water, parents can come shop and just spend a nice evening out."

The market also has entertainment including music and dance groups.

The market is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday through mid-October.

The market is set up in the south parking lot of the Southridge Sports complex located off highway 395 at 2901 Southridge Blvd.
