RICHLAND, Wash.- The City of Richland passed the ordinance that will allow Kadlec Regional
Medical Center to take over a portion of Goethals Drive to support the expansion of its campus.
The section that will be vacated runs from Swift Boulevard to Carondelet Drive.
Kadlec plans to build a new city street between Jadwin and Gillmore Avenues from its campus using the 700 foot long section.
But before the city turns over the portion of Goethals Drive, the Public Works Director Pete Rogalsky says Kadlec has to complete a few more steps on its campus expansion first.
"When their steps are complete, then we would actually transfer the property and allow them to make modifications on what is now Goethals," said Rogalsky.
However, Rogalsky says they do not expect anything to happen until late in the year.
