Local Employment Agency Looks to Improve Services

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A local employment agency is reinventing itself to better serve job seekers.

WorkSource in Kennewick spent the last six months redesigning its service-delivery system. Job seekers will now be able to make appointments, making it possible for them to see the same staff member every time they visit.

The new system is expected to reduce wait times, increase access to services and allow job seekers to use their time more efficiently.

"Because of the efficient use of their time, it gives [job seekers] the opportunity to focus on those things that...I wouldn't call them deficiencies, but if corrected could facilitate them becoming employed sooner," said Cos Edwards, the executive director of WorkSource.

Edwards says their office is one of the busiest employment agencies in the state with more than 450 people visiting every day.
