Fever still can finish season with .500 record

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Fever started the season 1-6, which dug them a hole too deep. But they have a chance to be 6-1 over the second half of the season, potentially finishing with a .500 record. The Fever have to win both their final two games to accomplish that, something the Fever hold very high on their list, starting with Wyoming Saturday.

"We've lost out last game every year I've been here because we lost in the playoffs or the championship game. We want to win these last two games and try to build on that, understand we have a lot of young good players here. We made a quarterback change that helped us win football games. To finish the season 6-1 would be a big deal," head coach Adam Shackleford said.

".500. It's not a losing record. It's going to the off-season with something to look forward to. All the games we lost were fairly close, really close to winning those games. A play here a play there, come out with a 'L.' 7-7 would have us ready to come back next year," defensive back Donyae Coleman added.
