Sweets full of local talent

Posted: Updated:

WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Fans can watch some locals on this year's Walla Walla Sweets team. From Tri-Cities there's Southridge alumni Matt Mendenhall and Spencer O'Neil, Kennewick alum Jarod Gonzalez and Hanford alum Colin Serkowski. There's Walla Walla alumni Drew Christina and Jake Campeau. The local Sweets say they are excited to share this experience with family and friends.

"Yeah I love playing close to home. My family is going to come watch almost every home game, when they're not following my brother. It's not too bad," O'Neil admitted.

"Yeah it'll be nice seeing some friends come up and family. I get to talk to them, watch me play rather than going far away where I won't be able to see them much," Mendenhall said.

"My parents said they'll try to make every game possible they can, at least the home games. Away games they'll have trouble with, but home games they'll try to be here," Gonzalez added.
