HEPPNER, Ore. - An Irrigon woman facing manslaughter charges is out of jail after posting bail.

A Umatilla County judge told 64-year-old Ida Powers at a pretrial hearing that she could leave Morrow County, but couldn't cross state lines, and that she should stay away from her sisters.

Powers faces manslaughter charges in the death of her mother, 83-year-old Anna Lyons. Sheriff deputies say Lyons died in October from an untreated bedsore.

District Attorney Justin Nelson says Powers had been caring for her mother before other members of the family intervened after seeing the elderly woman's condition.

Relatives also say Powers and her husband of spending $200,000 of Lyons' money and adding $47,000 of debt to her name. She isn't facing any charges regarding the monetary accusations.
