Fraternity Men Stop in Richland on Charity Bike Ride Across the U.S.

RICHLAND, Wash.-- A group of fraternity men cycling across the country for a good cause made a stop in Richland Friday.

The Pi Kappa Phi members are participating in the Journey of Hope ride from Seattle to Washington D.C. to raise money for people with disabilities.

At every stop they have friendship visits to meet with disabled people.

Friday they met with the ARC of Tri-Cities.

"We have a common saying on the team where cycling isn't a part of the Journey of Hope it's just like a mode of transportation. The friendship visits is really the destination of the whole thing."

So far, the national fraternity effort has raised $500,000. They hope to raise $600,000 by the end of their 4,000 mile ride.
