Wood-Fired Pizza Oven Keeps 90-Year-Old Yakima Business Alive

YAKIMA, Wash.--A Local couple saved a 90-year-old business by bringing something new to Yakima.

Paula Stebbins is one of the owners of Wildfire Pizza Corner Grocery. She said profits have tripled since they added a wood-fired pizza oven in October.

She said the business on Ahtanum Road was on its last leg until they expanded their food menu and turned the historic store into a social setting.

"The area needed something and even though this is an old style oven, it's a new concept to Yakima," said Stebbins.

Stebbins said they've also obtained their liquor license. Now people can enjoy a beer with their pizza, which the owners said created even more business for them.
