IFL awards Fever DB Crim as defensive player of the week

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- No surprise from the Indoor Football League weekly awards. Tri-Cities Fever defensive back Rudell Crim is the league's defensive player of the week. Saturday against Wyoming, Crim recorded three interceptions and five tackles. The trio of picks puts Crim second in the IFL with eight, even though he missed a few games injured.

"In the last five games he's played really well. He was out almost a month in the middle of the season during one of our tough stretches. Part of the reason we weren't playing well on defense is I think because he wasn't on the field. He's a quiet leader, but a very good football player, very good cover guy," head coach Adam Shackleford said.

"Everything came down to practice and repetitions, as far as just being in the right place at the right time and trusting your technique. Basically all the credit came to my receivers. They over-exaggerate the routes," Crim added.
