Former Hanford H.S. Teacher to go to Sex Offender Treatment

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash., -- A former Hanford High School foreign language teacher charged with sexual abuse of a minor will head to treatment in order to avoid additional jail time.

Daryl Rachinski was originally charged with third degree rape.  In February, he agreed to a plea deal in and pleaded guilty to communication with a minor for immoral purposes.

He's already spent 30 days in jail, but prosecutors can ask for another year if he doesn't go to treatment.

Rachinski will also need to register as a sex offender for the next 10 years.

His next court appearance is August 1st.
