SPOKANE, Wash. -- A Yakima man will be spending the next 10 years behind bars at a federal prison for trafficking drugs.

33-year-old Ruben Ornelas was sentenced today after he was convicted of distribution of methamphetamine.

The judge sentenced Ornelas to a ten-year term of imprisonment, followed by a five-year term of court supervision following his release from prison.

In October 2012, Ornelas was charged by indictment with distributing methamphetamine on four separate occasions in Yakima during the summer of 2012. Ornelas later pleaded guilty to one count of distributing over 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.
