Spokane Police: Suspect In Two Local Robberies Arrested

FROM THE SPOKANE POLICE DEPT: Spokane Police Detectives arrested 39-year-old Daniel Drake Friday morning for two local robberies. He was booked for the 6-11-13 robbery of The Java Hut and the 6-12-13 robbery of the N Nevada Albertsons. Major Crimes Detectives have applied for a Search Warrant for his hotel room to locate more evidence of the crimes. On 6-11-13 at 6:47 pm Spokane Police Department responded to a robbery at a local coffee stand, The Java Hut at 540 E Francis.

The male indicated he would hurt the employee if she did not give him money.On 06-12-14 at 9:30am Spokane Police Officers responded to another robbery at 6520 N Nevada, Albertsons, with a very similar suspect description.

The male in this robbery had his hand in a bag and indicated he had a gun.Detectives diligently followed up on numerous tips from the public and other sources and were able to identify Drake as the suspect. Officers located the suspect yesterday at The Royal Scot Motel. He was booked into jail for 2 counts of 1st Robbery. 

Detectives have applied for a Search Warrant to search the motel room where Drake was located, to locate evidence of the crimes. Spokane Police would like to thank all the citizens who called in tips with information about the identity of the suspect.

A homeowner in the 4600 block of Road M-Southeast called 911 about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday morning reporting someone was trying to break into their home.
