Kennewick Police Arrest Multiple People after Multiple Chases

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Police have arrested multiple people in connection with two police chases that eventually ended in a crash.

Kennewick Police say they tried to pull over a man and woman in a white Volkswagen Jetta on 1st Place for reckless driving on Wednesday. Police say when the officer tried to contact the driver, he backed into the police car, and sped off at an extremely high speed. Police say the Jetta didn't cause any damage to the car.

Officers say later when they tried to pull the car over again on Clearwater Avenue, the driver sped off across the Blue Bridge into Pasco.

Pasco Police say they caught up with the car right away, which quickly crashed into a tree on 18th Street near Lewis.

Police say four people got out of the car and tried to run off. Officers caught all four.

Police say the driver admitted to both eluding incidents, so they arrested him for felony eluding, a felony warrant and reckless endangerment. Officers arrested a juvenile passenger for resisting and obstructing. Police also took a female passenger into custody, who officers say may have injured her foot in the incident.
