Kennewick Parks & Recreation Department Offers Summer Fun Day Camp

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Kennewick Parks and Recreation Department's Summer Fun Day Camp started this week.

About 100 local campers are participating.

Activities are offered all day to keep kids busy from outdoor games to field trips.

Day camp workers say it's important for kids to stay active when school is out to keep them healthy and occupied.

"Your kids need to be active during the summer. They really do. That way their minds continue to grow. Their bodies continue to stay fit. It's really good for them to be active," said Linda Wren, camp supervisor.

For 20 years, the camp has offered fun activities for Tri-Cities kids.

Wren says it's not too late for kids to join. They accept new campers throughout the summer.

If you'd like to sign-up you child, you can go to the City of Kennewick website or call (509) 585-4293.
