YAKIMA, Wash.--A group of East Valley High School students spent their Saturday raising money for a beloved teacher.

Saturday's car wash along South First Street raised $400 for Randy Henry, the man who recently lost his wife and home in a tragic fire.

Students said they're thrilled Saturday's event was a success because they want to keep helping their teacher who they also call their friend.

"Every time he talked about his wife there was nothing but a smile on his face so when I heard about it I instantly thought how can we help," said Michael Gallegos.

"It was just tragic, for it to happen to Mr. Henry was just unbelievable," said Alisha Howard.

Students said Saturday's fundraiser is just the beginning, and multiple other events have been scheduled including a pizza night at Abby's Legendary Pizza this Tuesday.
