Evidence Piles Up in Pasco Murder Trial

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash.- The Franklin County prosecutor will take a second week calling witnesses to the stand to testify in a murder trial.

Jurors entered the courtroom Monday to see several boxes and plastic tubs filled with 96 items of evidence collected from Judy Hebert's home after her daughter, Tashia Stuart, shot her to death in March 2011. The evidence includes computers, cell phones, the tub of books Stuart allegedly pushed from the garage rafters in a failed attempt to kill Hebert, and the gun Stuart used to kill her mother.

Prosecutor Shawn Sant says Stuart murdered her mother to collect her inheritance. Stuart claims she shot Hebert in self defense when she came at her with a hatchet.

Defense attorneys say Stuart will testify when they start calling witnesses next week.
