PASCO, Wash. -The Franklin
County prosecutor is scheduled to rest his case Tuesday, and then it will be Tashia
Stuart's turn to tell her side of the story.
Police arrested Stuart in
March 2011 for shooting her mother, Judy Hebert, in her Pasco home.
Over the past three
weeks, prosecutor Shawn Sant brought more than 30 witnesses to the stand and
showed the jury nearly 100 pieces of evidence in his argument that Stuart plotted
and murdered her mother for the inheritance. Sant is expected to call his last
witnesses Tuesday morning.
The defense team says Stuart will take the stand this week and explain
she shot her mother in self-defense. Jurors could begin deliberating a verdict
by Friday or early next week.
