New Testing in Union Gap City Hall Turns Up Surprising Results

Posted: Updated:

UNION GAP, Wash.-- Some possible good news for the city of Union Gap, an environmental assessment firm says the city hall's mold problem may not be as huge as the city thought.

The city moved its employees out of the building last year after another assessment firm found toxic black mold inside.

However, recent testing by the new firm found only small traces of mold and those might have come from outside.

The firm says the main problem they found with the building is heavy dust in the ventilation system.

While they didn't test inside the walls, the firm says if there is any mold the city could clean it out.

The city is now considering its options.

They might decide to clean the building, then conduct a second test.
