Deputies Arrest Two People for Death of Prosser Man

UPDATE: SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say they have arrested two people in connection with a murder.

Deputies say a 19-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Grandview, were involved in the murder of 22-year-old Preston Yahne, from Prosser. Deputies say they found Yahne's body in the trunk of his own car near Sunnyside last week.

Deputies say they have now uncovered more information that suggests the homicide happened in Benton County, rather than Yakima County as deputies originally believed.

Jail documents show deputies booked Laura Marie Bancroft into the Yakima County Jail on Tuesday night, and Robert McCorkindale into the Benton County Jail early Wednesday morning, both on charges of second degree murder.

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - The Yakima County Coroner has identified the man whose remains were found in a burned out car.

Deputies say a tow truck driver found 22-year-old Preston Yahne's body on June 18th while removing the car from private property along Emerald Road near Sunnyside. Deputies say the car was registered to Yahne.

Investigators are still trying to figure out a cause of death, but are calling it a possible homicide.

Yahne graduated from Prosser High School in 2009 and served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
