The Spokane Chiefs have announced that 26 of their 36 home games will be played on weekends, including 13 Saturday nights, during the 2013-14 Western Hockey League season.  The home portion of the schedule will begin with Bud Light Opening Night on Saturday, September 28th versus the Tri-City Americans.

Spokane will start the year with three straight games, and five of their first six, on the road.  The Chiefs will open the regular season for the 22nd time in the last 24 years with a trip to play the Americans on Saturday, September 21st.  Spokane and Tri-City will play each other 12 times, six in each other's building.  The Chiefs and Americans are coming off their third straight season of facing each other in the playoffs with Spokane earning victories in 2011 and 2013 and the Americans winning a seven game series in 2012.

In total, 10 home games will be played on Friday nights, 13 on Saturdays and three on Sundays.  The Chiefs will also host two Tuesday and eight Wednesday night games.  Tuesday through Saturday home games will begin at 7:05 p.m.  Sundays will start at 6:05 p.m.

The Chiefs play in the WHL's U.S. Division of the Western Conference and will play the Everett Silvertips (five home, five away) 10 times, the Portland Winterhawks (four home, four away) and Seattle Thunderbirds (four home, four away) eight times a piece.

In the BC Division, the Chiefs will play Victoria, Kamloops, Kelowna and Prince George four times (two home, two away) and the Vancouver Giants twice (one home, one away).

Spokane also maintains its rivalry with the Kootenay Ice facing off against the Central Division franchise five times, including two home games.  The Chiefs will travel to the other five Central Division clubs (Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer) throughout the year.

Spokane will host the six Eastern Conference clubs (Brandon, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current) throughout the course of the season.

By month, the Chiefs will host seven games in September/October, and six each in November, December and January.  Spokane will play nine times in the Arena in February and twice in March.

Promotional nights, including the Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Spokesman-Review Christmas Fund, Buck Nights and giveaway nights will be announced in September.

Ticket packages for the 2013-14 season start as low as $88 and are available now at the Chiefs office by contacting an Account Executive at (509) 535-PUCK.
