Pasco Murder Suspect Unlikely to Testify

Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. - A woman on trial for murder may not testify after all.

Before Tashia Stuart's trial started nearly four weeks ago, defense attorney Bob Thompson told the judge Stuart would take the stand and tell jurors she shot her mother in self defense.
However, with jurors outside the Franklin County Courtroom Thursday morning, Thompson indicated he plans to rest his case tomorrow after calling two more  witnesses.

The jury Thursday morning finished watching the taped, four-hour police video of Stuart describing to detectives how she shot Judy Hebert when she says Hebert came after her with a hatchet.

Attorneys say the jury should start deliberating its verdict early next week.
