KENNEWICK, Wash. - Miss Tri-Cities unveils a new project that people riding bicycles around the Tri-Cities may notice.
Halle Goodwin came up with the idea to install about 20 bike helmet safety signs along the Sacajawea Trail. The signs include a phone number that people can call to get a helmet, even if they can not afford one.
"This is one of the goals that I wanted to accomplish. Finding some way to make the Tri-Cities a little bit more, not helmet friendly but bicycle friendly and safer, making our community safer," Halle said.
The project included help from Miss Tri-Cities, the Safe Kids Organization, the City of Kennewick, and the Franklin County Sign Shop.
