Southridge Sports Complex Playground to Temporarily Close
KENNEWICK, Wash. - The City of Kennewick says the playground at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex will temporarily close for safety reasons.
The playground at 29014 Southridge Boulevard will close July 1st and 2nd. As part of the first steps in the construction of the Carousel of Dreams, a Lampson crane will be on location to move the gazebo currently in the construction site.
The aquatic playground at the Southridge complex will also be closed for the summer during the carousel construction. However, the City of Kennewick has 3 other aquatic playgrounds that are open and ready through Labor Day weekend:
- Columbia Park next to the Playground of Dreams
- Highlands Grange Park at 1600 S Union Street, adjacent to the Mid-Columbia Library
- Underwood Park at 2020 W 7th Ave.
The aquatic playgrounds are open daily from 10:00 am to dusk.
