Suspect Charged With Murder in Prosser Man's Death

KENNEWICK, Wash. - New information in the murder of a Prosser man found dead in the trunk of his car last week.
The Benton County Prosecutor has filed a first degree murder charge against Robert McCorkindale, 24, of Grandview. Deputies say McCorkindale stabbed Preston Yahne, 22, during an argument over a drug deal somewhere in Benton County, then put the body in the trunk of Yahne's car and burned the vehicle near Sunnyside.
McCorkindale is in Benton County Jail, arraignment is scheduled for July 3rd.
Deputies also arrested Laura Bancroft, 19, of Grandview in connection to the case.
She is in the Yakima County Jail facing a charge of Rendering Criminal Assistance, and may also face murder and arson charges.
Benton County officials say the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office will handle Bancroft's case.
