IED Explodes Under Car In North Spokane: ATF Investigating

SPOKANE, Wash. - An improvised explosive device or IED exploded under a car next to a north Spokane home early Saturday morning.

Spokane Police, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and the Spokane Bomb Squad are processing evidence at the scene. Nobody was injured.

The explosion happened in the driveway of a home on the 5800 Block of N. Monroe just before 5 A.M. Saturday. One lane of Monroe was blocked while police investigated.

    BLEWETT PASS, Wash. - A semi truck overturned on Blewett Pass Monday, spilling its payload of apples on the road. WSP says 56,000 pounds of apples were dumped when the truck flipped. Traffic was slowed for hours on the pass that slices through the Cascade Mountain range.  No word yet on a cause or injuries.
