UPDATE: Arrest in Wash. Drive-By Shooting That Killed Teen

Posted: Updated:

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. (AP) - A 26-year-old man has been booked into jail for investigation of a drive-by shooting that left a 15-year-old Seattle girl dead.

Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton says sheriff's detectives arrested a 26-year-old man on Friday at his Marysville home. Molly Conley was visiting friends in Lake Stevens and celebrating her birthday when she was struck in the neck by a bullet. Several of her classmates were with her at the time.

Deputies did not immediately release the suspect's identity, but jail records show Erick Nathan Walker was booked just before 12 a.m. Saturday for investigation of first-degree murder, drive-by shooting and assault.

Last week, the sheriff's office said dispatchers made reverse-911 calls to nearly 4,000 phones, seeking information that might help catch the shooter.

Detectives asked people to respond if they had video of vehicles driving in the area during the hours before and after the shooting.

It wasn't immediately known whether that effort helped lead to the arrest.
