Cordell's HR Lifts Spokane Over Everett

Posted: Updated:

EVERETT, Wash – It was a timely moment for Ryan Cordell's first home run of the year, as a solo shot in the 9th inning helped propel the Spokane Indians to a 10-9 over the Everett Aquasox.

Things started out slow for Spokane, as they trailed 6-0 heading into the 5th inning. In the 5th though, the bats caught fire with the Indians scoring seven runs on seven hits. The runs continued in the 7th inning, when Barrett Serrato's home run gave the Indians a 9-6 lead.

Everett fought back to tie the game, but the combination of Cordell's homerun and Josh McElwee on the mound in the 9th proved to be the difference.

The win snaps the Indians' three game losing streak and moves them to 7-10 on the year.

Spokane travels to Tri-City on Monday to open up a three game series with the Dust Devils.
