PASCO, Wash. - The Tri-City Dust Devils parent organization is the Colorado Rockies, home to Coors Field, thin air, and the long ball. Despite Colorado's home field reputation for giving up home runs, The Tri-City Dust Devils are the only team in the Northwest League not to go yard. Boise already has 12 and the next lowest team, Vancouver has four homers.
"Their abilities to be good hitter is going to help them have consistent contact. And as a hitter if you know how to have consistent and hard contact then when the ball starts coming instead of it being four feet and five feet down here, now it turns into the actual strike zone, 17 inches and two and a half feet. Now you're able to square up the baseball a lot easier and a lot more consistent, that's when the ball tends to go out of the ball park," explained Drew Saylor, Dist Devils manager.
