JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ore. - A Granger woman is in the hospital after she lost control of her motorcycle Wednesday.

Oregon State Police say the 51-year-old woman was following another motorcycle traveling together along U.S. Forest Service Road 1419,  about four miles north of Highway 20 in the Camp Sherman area.

Just before 3pm Wednesday, as the leading motorcycle slowed to turn right, the victim braked hard and lost control. Her motorcycle tipped onto its side and slid across the opposite lane before coming to rest on the shoulder.

The victim was seriously injured and transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. She was wearing a protective helmet.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Black Butte Police Department, Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, and Black Butte Ranch Rural Fire District.
