YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima firefighters are investigating what caused a brush fire on Englewood Avenue Friday afternoon.

Initially, a fire engine, brush truck and the battalion chief responded to the fire on the 5100 block of Englewood Avenue. Once they arrived, a full structure response was requested.

The fire started in some shrubs, then spread to the attic of nearby home.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

Fire crews cut a hole in the attic's gable end and were able to put out the fire from the exterior.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined at this time, and fireworks have not been ruled out as a cause.

About $60,000 worth of damage was done.
