Posted: Updated:

PASCO, Wash. (AP) - The family of a 3-year-old girl who drowned in a backyard swimming pool in Pasco washed cars over the weekend at a fundraiser to help pay for funeral expenses.

The girl's grandfather, David Hernandez, told KNDO (http://bit.ly/10IBMM4 ) that having the family together helped them cope with the loss. He thanked businesses and the public for their support.

Deziree Envy Mia Hernandez was found unconscious Tuesday and died on the Fourth of July at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. The Spokane medical examiner's office ruled the death an accident.
