Dust Devils sweep denied by the Hawks

From Tri-City Dust Devils

The Tri-City Dust Devils fell short of the rare road sweep by Boise on Monday night as the Hawks won 11-3. Tri-City's pitching staff struggled with their control throughout the night, allowing nine walks and hitting four Boise batters. The Dust Devils also committed a season-high five errors in final game of the five-game series. Pat Valaika in his professional debut hit a triple to drive home the team's first run of the game sixth inning.

The Dust Devils will return home Wednesday to begin a five-game series with the Hillsboro Hops. Left-hander Sam Moll will start the first game of the series for Tri-City.
