    KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho - Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies are welcoming the newest member of their team Thursday. K9 Axo is a 3-year-old Dutch Shepard and comes from Cougar Creek K9. Deputy Jason Shaw will be Axo's partner and handler. Deputy Shaw has been with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office since 1996 and a handler for the last 16 years.

    A Coast Guard aircrew rescued three fishermen stranded on rocks in Willapa Bay Wednesday evening. An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew from Air Station Astoria safely hoisted the three individuals and transported them to the beach.
