OTHELLO, Wash. -- The small community of Othello is still reeling after learning a teacher may have molested one of her 10-year-old male students. The Othello School District first became aware of Lisa Davis's alleged relations with a 5th grade student at the end of May. Then in June, Davis resigned from Scootney Springs Elementary.
Hearing rumors, the school district contacted the police to look into the accusations.
Othello Police say an investigation like this is extremely rare and right now, they do not believe there are any other victims.
After their five week investigation, the police department findings have been forwarded to the prosecutors office.
The prosecutor's office will look at the information and decide if there's enough evidence to file charges.
Detectives are recommending two counts of first degree child molestation.
