RICHLAND, Wash. - The Richland School District's new superintendent is now officially on the job.
The school board swore-in Dr. Rick Shulte Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Shulte says he is ready to move the district forward with a clean slate.
With more than 20 years of experience under his belt, he says he plans to focus on excellence and equity.
Board members say he is a positive change for the district.
"It was bitter sweet to leave a place that I have been for 26 years, but it's exciting and energizing to be at a new place. Richland is very different. The geography is different. Everybody here is different. I don't know the people here and I'm very excited," Dr. Shulte said.
Dr. Shulte took his seat at the board table for the first time Wednesday as superintendent.
