Red Hot Indians Face A Cold Forecast

As thermometers around Spokane rose to searing temperatures in late June and early July, so also did the Indians' success on the diamond.
Prior to this past Tuesday, the Spokane Indians played 25 games since opening day. That was 25 days ago.
After an anything but exciting 1-6 start, the Indians have turned things around. After putting away eight of their last nine opponents, they have improved their record to a season-best three games over .500 (14-11).
However, a trying road lies ahead of their victory train. After just a one-day break, they continue their loaded schedule on the road tonight against the Salem-Kaizer Volcanoes (16-9).
This game marks the first of yet another 26-day, 26-game obstacle the Indians face before the All-Star break (August 5-7).
As if this isn't challenging enough, 15 of their next 21 games are on the road.
But as the old adage proclaims; nothing worth having comes easy.
