KENNEWICK, Wash., -- Lord of Life Lutheran Church on Columbia Center Boulevard in Kennewick has undergone a $1.2 million expansion and transformation.
The 500 member church was originally built in 1980 and an updated sanctuary and classrooms were added in 1995.
The current "Space for Grace" project includes considerable remodeling, a new 5,500 square-foot building and parking lot renovation.
The new building will be used for education and will also be available for community use. The existing structure's lobby was remodeled and a storage area was added.
"The members wanted it," says Pastor Dan. "It was just a constant asking 'we need more space for this,' 'we need more space for that.' So that's what shaped it, the members themselves. They said 'we really need it!'"
Terence Thornhill was the architect and DGR Grant Construction was general contractor.
