A Breakfast for Champions of Kids

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.– Catholic Family and Child Services says Thursday's Kids Day Champion Breakfast will help poor and fragile children in the community.

Organizations and individuals heard from some of the 10,000 children and families Catholic Family and Child Services helps each year.

Donations from the breakfast will sustain 19 programs helping low-income children and their families.

"Foster care, independent living for foster teens, adoption and maternity services," says Adrianne Deen.

Other programs also support grandparents raising their grandchildren, and intervening and preventing child abuse.

Catholic Family and Child Services says the first time it held the Kids Day Champion Breakfast in 2011 it raised more than $10,000 to assist vulnerable children.
