KENNEWICK, Wash. - It is all part of Jessica Conant's Gold Award project for the Girl Scouts.

The 18-year-old from Kennewick has been working for over a year with different groups to make blankets and toys for the Benton Franklin Humane Society.

On Thursday, Jessica donated 183 homemade blankets and 936 toys for the homeless pets waiting at the shelter for their forever homes.

"It feels great. It is extremely great that I know that I can help the animals because I absolutely love animals," Jessica said.

This project was the last step to be completed before turning in her paperwork to the council, which will determine if she will receive the actual Gold Award.

The Girl Scout's only award about four-percent the Gold Award.
