KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Tri-Cities Fever players delivered a big donation the Tri-Cities Cancer Center Thursday.
The players handed over a check to the center for nearly $3,700.
The money will fund breast cancer awareness activities.
Fever players say their job is about more than just playing football. It's about giving back to the community.
"Out there helping the community instead of just waiting, hoping they come by. Interacting with everyone it makes them a little more comfortable and lets them see our faces beyond the field without a helmet on," said Vaalyn Jackson, Fever player.
The money was collected during the Fever's Go Pink Night in May.
All the funds raised stay local to serve patients and families.
