Long Hair, Don't Care Olynyk Shines In Orlando

Updated:

As Orlando's NBA Summer League came to an end on Friday, Kelly Olynyk's talent showcase seemed to have just begun.

The 13th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft didn't take long to show he belonged as a first-rounder. As a matter of fact, he not only competed, but he dominated, long hair and all.

Whether it was posterizing defenders in the post or stepping back and hitting the deep jumper, Olynyk has put himself in the ranks of the offensive elite.

So far, he is averaging a stellar 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.2 steals on 57.4 percent shooting from the floor. Not too shabby for a 7-footer.

When the buzzer signaled the end of the final game in Orlando, two things are certain: Olynyk can play, and the Celtics won't be cutting him anytime in the forseeable future.

No guarantees on how long his hair will last, however.
