Former Vandal Grove Shoots 64 to Win Lilac

Posted: Updated:

Cheney, Wash. – Russell Grove uses a final round of 64 to propel himself to a win in the 2013 Lilac Invitational.

Grove started the day three shots back of the leader, but played the most consistent golf of the day. He shot –7 in the final round, to finish –14 for the tournament. Grove from Hayden, Idaho played his college golf in the inland northwest at the University of Idaho.

Spokane native Corey Prugh played in the final group of the day and shot a two-under 69. Prugh finished second, but was three shots back of Grove.

Jason Humphrey led the golf tournament for most of the week, but his one-over 72 set him back from making a run at the championship.

WSU golfer Hank Frame finished the tournament as the top amateur finisher shooting -9 for the tournament.

Many of these professional golfers will return next week for the Rosauer's Open.
