Car Chase Ends in Downtown Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A man from Pasco faces reckless endangerment charges after a car chase.

Richland Police say they tried to pull over 25-year-old Thomas Ramirez Garza for a routine traffic stop, but he continued driving.

Officers say Ramirez Garza threw narcotics out of the car window at one point as he led officers from Richland onto Interstate 82, then into Pasco and across the Blue Bridge.

Benton County Sheriff Deputies used spike strips to slow him down, and he eventually stopped in downtown Kennewick.

However, officers say when he got out of the car, he grabbed his 4-year-old son and tried to run.

Police caught up and arrested him for negligent driving, eluding police, narcotics, and an outstanding felony warrant, and booked him into the Benton County Jail.

Officers say the young boy is now with his grandmother.
