TACOMA, Wash., - The Pierce County prosecutor says his office probably will decide Tuesday whether to recommend that a 14-year-old Puyallup boy accused of attacking a 7-year-old girl should be tried as an adult.
Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says the teen should be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in juvenile court in Tacoma in connection with the attack last Wednesday outside a Puyallup apartment community. He says his office is still compiling medical, criminal and forensics information.
The girl remains in the pediatric intensive care unit at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma in serious condition.
Police said the girl was choked and sexually assaulted in a wooded area near the Glenbrooke apartments. After she was found by a police dog, she named her neighbor as her attacker.
