Yakima Salvation Army Starting July Bell Ringing Campaign

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, Wash.-- Starting today, the Salvation Army in Yakima is rolling out a July bell ringing campaign.

The organization usually does one campaign a year around Christmas time.

However, in Yakima, they didn't collect as much money as they were hoping and they need more funding to continue running all their programs.

Volunteers say even a little can go a long way.

"Pocket change, we'll take anything, we will. Because all of it adds up and it's the work we should be doing," says Volunteer Dale Carpenter.

Volunteers will collect the money in front of four local stores for the next five days.

You can find them at the Wray's stores on 56th Avenue and 72nd Avenue, the Walgreens on 40th Avenue, and the Rosauers on 72nd Avenue.
