Possible Evidence in Richland Murder Case to Stay Private Until Trial

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, Wash. - The Benton County Prosecutor's Office says they will wait until trial to release more details on a backpack found Monday that may contain a murder weapon.

A diver found the backpack in the Yakima River in Benton City. Police say it matches the one officers believe Joshua Hunt, 19, and John Young, 18, used to hide the weapon that killed 17-year-old Joshua Snapp.

Police say the two teens shot Snapp on the Fourth of July during an argument involving money.

Attorneys have sent a tentative trial date for sometime in August.
