West Richland Town Hall Meeting to Discuss Pet Adoption Shelters

Posted: Updated:

WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - The group Adopt Shelter Animal Pets, or ASAP, will be holding a public town hall meeting Wednesday night to address the need for shelter pet adoptions in West Richland.

Currently, the shelter for West Richland is not accessible to the public. It is off limits to anyone but city staff and is mostly un-manned with animals in cages 24/7.

That is something the group wants to change..

"Ultimately we want to be able to build a new shelter that is accessible to the public where people can come and find their new forever pets and volunteer and just get involved as a community," said Kelly Merrick with Adopt Shelter Animal Pets.

Their meeting is scheduled for Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. at the Benton REA Community Room on Van Giesen Street in West Richland.
