Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Kennewick voters will have the option to pay a little more in sales tax to help expand the Three Rivers Convention Center.

On Tuesday, the Kennewick Council voted to support the Public Facility District Board's plan to ask voters to pay for the expansion.

The proposed one-tenth of a cent sales tax increase, or one cent for each ten dollars,  will be on the November ballot.

Board members say the expansion is crucial if we want compete with venues outside our area.
