Yakima Population Passes 92,000 People

YAKIMA, Wash. -  The Washington State Office of Financial Management says more than 92,000 people now live within Yakima city limits. 

The most recent estimate from OFM show's Yakima current population at 92,620 people. That's up by nearly 700 people from the year before, and just under 1500 people since the 2010 U.S. Census.

The Financial Management Office also says the population in Yakima County has also increased since last year, from about 246,000 to 247,250.

Yakima remains the largest of the 14 cities and towns in the county. OFM lists the populations in the other towns as follows.

    KITTITAS COUNTY, WA-  A military exercise early Saturday morning sent four men to the hospital after their Stryker went over a 25 foot cliff.  Washington State Patrol said the military vehicle was headed along the south side of I-90 around 4:30 a.m. on a dirt road.
