Terrace Heights PTA Donates $90,000 for New Playground Equipment

TERRACE HEIGHTS, Wash.-- The East Valley School District is getting some help as they build the new Terrace Heights Elementary School.

The local PTA presented a 90-thousand dollar check to the district to pay for a new playground.

They already started construction in anticipation of the check.

The district says the money is a huge help because they didn't have enough in the budget to pay for the playground themselves.

"This is just another example of the types of parents and community that we have in East Valley and stepping up and making a difference for our children," said East Valley Superintendent John Scheiche.

The PTA raised the money over several years mostly from sales of cookie dough.

As for the new school, the district says they play to open it in January of 2014.
